Legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan was awarded by US Embassy for spreading awareness on tuberculosis. The actor was honoured for his precious contributions to the US-India partnership on tuberculosis.

“FB 1597 – USA ke Ambassador ke saath mil kar TB fo mitaane ke liye ek campaign .. aur phir Harvard Univ aur INdia ke saath ek meeting mein ..”, the actor wrote on Facebook and uploaded the photos in which he is seen receiving the award.

On January 8, the award was presented to the veteran actor by the US Ambassador to India Richard R. Verma who is the brand ambassador for the initiative and also a a tuberculosis survivor.

On the occasion of the function, Amitabh said, “It is inspiring that India and the US are natural partners with a long history of collaboration on tuberculosis prevention, treatment, research and cure and I hope to continue to do my bit in this partnership to end tuberculosis in India.”
