Shahid Kapoor to play Deepika Padukone’s husband in Padmavati

Fans of chocolate boy Shahid Kapoor and ‘Best Actress’ IIFA 2016 award winner Deepika Padukone are about to see them working together in Sanjay Leela Bansali directed upcoming Bollywood movie ‘Padmavati’. This is the first time for the artists to share silver screen with each other.

Bansali is endeavoring to stress more on the creation of films based on historical epics after the grand success of ‘Bajirao Mastani’ which recently won ‘Best Movie’ award in IIFA 2016 at Madrid. He has confirmed the ‘Jab We Met’ actor’s role opposite Deepika in this utmost celluloid.

Ranveer Singh too will be seen performing in this movie whose shooting is going to commence soon. According to the makers, Shahid will play ‘Chittor King’ who is married to Rani Padmini of Chittorgarh. Story of the movie will revolve around the historical tale of Sultan Alauddin Khilji and his obsessive love for Queen of Mewar Padmavati.

Filmmakers were planning to sign Vicky Kaushal for  the role of Raja Rawal Ratan  Singh but the negation from ‘Chennai Express’ entailed them to go for ‘Udta Punjab’ hero. ‘Om Shanti Om’ debutante refuted to work with ‘Masaan’ fame as the cinema will have intimate scenes which the heroine don’t want to do with her junoir.

Bansali have thought making this historical tale based movie as his previous direction has got quite huge response from people across the nation and not only grossed immense box office collections but also won the award. Sanjay is approaching in same direction for bringing a new story in alluring manner.
