Shah Rukh Khan’s latest Bollywood movie, which hit more than 2600 screens in India on 25th January 2017, was about to be released in Pakistan this week. But the sources told that ban has been imposed over the film’s release in India’s neighbouring Muslim dominated country.
According to the latest reports, Raees has been banned in Pakistan as the country’s Censor Board thinks that the content in the movie undermines religion – Islam as well as a specific religious sect. The report also claimed that the celluloid also portrays Muslims as wanted persons, terrorists and criminals.
This is not the first time for the film to face the problem over its release. Protests against the film were arouse in India after the Uri attacks. As the film stars Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, who made her debut in Bollywood industry with this cinema, people and some political parties in India had opposed the film’s release.
On business front, Raees has collected a massive overall collection of Rs 227 crore in 13 days. The film, which is contending with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil, is expected to earn Rs 5 crore as Raees 14th day collection. The movie will need to beat Kaabil 14th day collection to gross maximum earning on day 14.
