Raees 2nd Day Box Office Collection : After grossing Rs 20.42 crore on first day, SRK’s movie income surged on Republic Day. On second day, the film is expected to earn around Rs 30 crore. Though Shah Rukh Khan starrer latest Bollywood flick is facing a tough box office competition with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil, the celluloid is acquiring immense response in cinema halls.

With a surprising two digit box office collection on opening day, Raees has succeeded in breaking the records of SRK’s previous films – Dear Zindagi and FAN. The celluloid, in which Shah Rukh was seen in double roles of ‘a superstar’ as well as ‘a fan of the superstar’, had clinched a single digit amount of Rs 8.75 crore on first day of its release.

The cinema, in which Alia Bhatt first time played a leading role opposite none other the King of Romance, had bagged a huge collection of Rs 19.20 crore. The latest flick having Shah Rukh in major role has beaten Dear Zindagi with a little margin of Rs 1.2 crore. With these earnings, SRK led new celluloid is expected to show growth in weekend shows.

However, Raees could not defeat SRK’s 2016 released multistarrer celluloid – Dilwale. The film, which had starred Kajol Devgn, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon in significant roles along with Shah Rukh, opened with astounding Rs 21 crore opening day business. New flick of Mr Khan has fallen short of Rs 0.58 crore to break the record of Dilwale.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui starred new Hindi cinema has failed to earn even half amount of the earnings which were curbed by 2014’s highest grosser and multi starrer film Happy New Year. Raees didn’t manage surpass the bounteous collection of Rs 44.97 crore, which was earned by Sonu Sood, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, Vivaan Shah and Boman Irani starrer flick.

Apart from these SRK’s movies which were released in previous two years, the celluloid Jab Tak Hai Jaan had minted an opening day collection of Rs 15.23 crore. In an overall review of the cinemas in which Mr Khan has been seen in vital characters, Raees succeeded in garnering a huge first day collection than the opening day earnings of most of his films.

First day collection of Rahul Dholakia’s latest directorial venture has been not able to overcome Rohit Shetty’s superhit directorial project Chennai Express. The new flick of SRK, in which Farhan Akhtar is seen in a special appearance, didn’t amass the plenteous income of Rs 33.12 crore which Chennai Express had collected.

Besides this comparison with other film, Mahira Khan’s debut Bollywood flick has also beaten the major hindrance of Hrithik’s Kaabil which grossed Rs 10.43 crore on first day of its release. In the Raees vs Kaabil battle for box office, Aamir Khan’s Dangal is stagnant in its business in this week. Although the megastar starrer two films have already arrived in more than thousands of theatres, Nitesh Tiwari’s December 2016 released flick has been consistent in its journey at box office.
