Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister – Manish Sisodia announced on social media that Aamir Khan’s latest movie Dangal would be tax free in the national capital.

The minister tweeted, “#Dangal movie would be tax free in Delhi cinemas. Orders issued. It’s an inspiring movie to promote sports-spirit by @aamir_khan.”

The movie had already been declared as tax free in the neighbouring states of Delhi, which included the regions of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand.

Dangal is based on the life journey of Indian wrestler Mahavir Phogat. In the film, Aamir Khan portrayed Mahavir and Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra played Mahavir’s daughters.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the movie also featured actress Sakshi Tanwar in leading character of Mahavir’s wife.

The movie has become the highest grosser film of 2016 year. The film earned an overall box office collection of Rs 601 crores in two weeks.
